Well,
now I want to make a video review, the title is "Future Store".
I get this video from my lecturer in my college and I want to tell you about
that video.
This video explains about the various new technologies that will be realized in
the future. That technologies are Smart Fridge, Smart Washing Machine, Electronic
shopping List, and Future Store. These technologies are related each other. For
example, smart fridge that examine any kind of products out of stock in the
fridge and send it to the electronic shopping list for the grocery list.
One of
technology that makes me interested, is Future Store. In the future, this store
will be have several from these techologies, such as, Future card. This
card storing our personal information and a list of groceries that had been
stored in an electronic shopping list in advance. There is a censor that reads our information from the card. Second technology is Smart Selves. This
technology is designed to simplify the employees’s work in the store because
there is a censor that can capture which products are out of stock. Then the
employees will have that information in their cell phone, so they can
re-arrange the products in the selves as soon as they can. I like this technology because it can give the information to employee and do re-arrange the sold product faster. Third, Smart Information Terminal. This
technology can provide information on a product and there are a lot of menus
that can be selected for the product. The information that we get can be
sent directly to our mobile phone by phone number that has been saved on the future
card. Beside it, we can see directions to arrive at the place of the product
and it will be display everywhere. There is also an advertising display for the
product we were looking for. Fourth, Smart scales with RFID. In
this technology, RFID get the seller’s information like his/her name with censor that available in their watches. Fifth is Smart Trolley. This
one is really impressed me. Smart trolley automatically recognizes it’s content and
making it easier for us to remember what items have not been purchased. There is a monitor in the trolley and it can display any items in there. Sixth, Smart Dressing Room. If
we want to try on clothes, we do not need to use it immediately. With this
technology, we put that clothes in a certain place and there is a censor that capture
it, so we are like using that clothes in front of the mirror. And if we wanna buy it, we just send that item to our electronic shopping list. Seventh, Smart Mirror. We
can try the cosmetic there, with several options that we can choose like
foundation, lipstick, eyeshadow, and mascara. We can choose the products and
print the photos, then we can send the products that we choose to the electronic
shopping list. But, i think this technology is bit useless because we can't choose which cosmetic that we want and we can't feel it in our skin or face directly so we don't know if that product suitable with our skin or not. And the last one is Future Check-Out. In this technology, goods
and prices are automatically registered. So, the cashier does not need to take
any item to see the price. I think this technology is very helpful because we don't need to waiting the cashier scan our goods to calculate the prices.
And if you wanna watch the video, here it is ..
For me this video is very inspiring. There is also a new technology that we get,
it is RFID. At first I haven’t understood what RFID is until I browsing about
that. And finally I got it. RFID (Radio
Frequency Identification) is the wireless
non-contact use of radio-frequency electromagnetic field to transfer data, for the purposes of automatically identifying and tracking tags attached to objects. The tags contain electronically stored information. Some
tags are powered by and read at short ranges (a few meters) via magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). Others use a local power source such as a battery, or else
have no battery but collect energy from the interrogating EM field, and then
act as a passive transponder to emit microwaves or UHF radio waves
(i.e., electromagnetic
radiation at
high frequencies). Battery powered tags may operate at hundreds of meters.
Unlike a bar code, the tag does not necessarily need to be within line of
sight of the reader, and may be embedded in the tracked object.
In my opinion, using RFID tags in grocery store is very
useful. As we know, long checkout lines at the grocery store are one of the
biggest complaints about the shopping experience. Soon, these lines could
disappear when the Universal Product Code(UPC) bar code is replaced by smart labels, also
called radio frequency identification (RFID) tags. RFID tags are intelligent bar
codes that can talk to a networked system to track every product that you put
in your shopping cart.RFID tags are an improvement over bar codes because the tags
have read and write capabilities. Data stored on RFID tags can be changed ,
updated and locked . Some stores that have begun using RFID tags have found
that the technology offers a better way to track merchandise for stocking and
marketing purposes. Through RFID tags, stores can see how quickly intervening
the products leave the shelves and the which shoppers are buying them .
RFID tags are already used in major countries in the world
such as America, the Philippines, Hong Kong, etc. RFID tags are very helpful
in terms of tracking and reading information. For example, the I - Pass
system in Illinois and also South Luzon Expressway E - Pass in the Philippines
are already using RFID tags for their electronic toll collection. The tags read vehicles pass the toll gate as soon as possible and that information can use to
discharge their toll account. It is of course can make the traffic in the toll
gates less than traffic commonly. Other examples such as seismic sensors could
be read using RFID transceivers, so it will simplifying remote data collection.
And in terms of security, RSA Security already has a prototype tools that
can locally to download the RFID signal clock. It allows a person will be able
to avoid identification .
Conclusion :
By using RFID tags on a technology is very helpful in our
life . RFID tags can read the information from technology that has been using
RFID tags , so the RFID tags can be used for example in the grocery stores,
toll gates , and in the human body as well . However, due to the high price of
RFID , just few countries that are already using RFID tag. Besides having a
highly sophisticated functions , RFID also has some disadvantages, such as RFID
tags could be read by others without the owner's permission.
